My Pen Lies Bleeding in My Hand

Staring at the paper, I don’t know what to write.
I’ll have my last cigarette-well, turn out the lights
Maybe tomorrow, I’ll feel a different way,
But here in my delusion, I don’t know what to say

~ “My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms” – Bon Jovi

Okay, so that’s not entirely true. I do know what to write, but tomorrow I just know I will feel a different way. Different how? Well tomorrow I’ll have done the washing up, there’ll be nothing to watch on T.V, no book to finish reading.

No damned lame excuse to put off what I need to do.

Tomorrow I won’t neglect my pen, my scribe.

My pen is my life. If it bleeds to death, so too must I die?

You know what helped me? Taking some time for myself! I basically just took a week for me and it made a huge difference in my creative energy and outlook.

Thanks Hayden. I tried that once, didn’t work. I’m just going to have to beat the living snot out of this procrastination.

I will start by taking a(nother) leaf from your book and naming the goal.

Hey, remember that tip about write everyday even if you don’t like what you write. Even if you can’t think of anything to write. Just do it. I kind of like that advice. Just write and sometimes something will come to you.

I have been trying it and some days I get something and other days I don’t. Still writing though.

That is a great tip Tracy, thanks for the reminder. I need to make a more concerted effort to keep writing that’s for sure.

More scenes in ER? :)

Well, I can’t take credit for that advice, I read it from Melissa Donovan’s website. But it is really good advice.

I am glad you decided to take up writing. I think you are really good at it and I hope to see a lot more from you.

ER is a great place to write and I love writing with you there. I also look forward to seeing what you have to say outside of ER as well. Not just here but where ever you decide to go.

Did I read that you were thinking about starting other projects or blogs?

Thank you for the kind words Tracy. Yes I’m working on a couple of other blogs. One isn’t going so well, I’m not really enthused about it. The other is just about ready to be unveiled :)

I suggest you pay more close attention around you, The detailed things. Its that a writers eye may always reliable and helpful to you. Try that if you didn’t already, make new memorable things! You may end up with tens and hundreds of pages. Just of uninportant things in life. . . Live,Laugh,Love. Think of times way back I’m sure you’ll get there :)
