I feel old, Gandalf. Stretched thin. Like butter, spread over too much bread. – Bilbo Baggins
Every now and again I lose my focus and frankly I only have myself to blame. It’s a bad habit of mine that I am doomed to repeat until the end of my days.
Essentially I take on too many tasks, too many projects, too much in one go such that in the end nothing really gets the attention it deserves. In the end I’m left feeling drained and somewhat anxious, kind of like I did as a boy when I hadn’t done my homework. That in itself is not conducive to living a healthy life or running a healthy business.
So I’m going to finish off the client work still outstanding then I’m taking a break from blogging. How long for I cannot truly say. In times like these I go back to my Aikido training to centre myself and to find my focus again. As such I’ll probably rejoin the blogosphere through my Daily Aikido site.
In the meantime if you’re really missing my words I have a series of guest posts going live on WHAMBizbuilder over the coming days
Thanks for your understanding. I’ll see you in a couple of weeks

Thanks Sean
I’m so proud to be your friend and colleague, Marc. I love that you respect us enough to share yourself in a beautiful, vulnerable, brave, honest post like this. I can empathise totally with your reasons. (Awesome quote, by the way…just perfect. The kids were watching that film last night!!!)
You know I’ll be here when you decide you’re ready to come back to Welshscribe. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to the sequels over at Mel’s place. I hope too that we can still meet up in other folks’ comments boxes, but if not, please keep in touch by email.
For my own selfish reasons, though, I hope you keep Daily Aikido going – it’s a breath of fresh air!
i think being critical about how you spend you time will help you strip the fat – most of time spent for me at least in the past was unnecessary, and the old 80-20 applied in terms of time spent to productivity output ratios. to be one of the sheep and quote our ol buddy tim ferriss, ask yourself “am i being productive or just active?” – helped me loads
all the best on getting it back together.
best

Thanks Alex. I think I do need to look at it from a different angle as I am constantly going round in circles
I miss you, friend
Take care.
Ah, I’ve been there. It’s good to take some time off every now and then. Hope you come back soon!
