I thought a weekly feature on my blog would be nice. So here’s my highly imaginative roundup of posts/sites that have caught my eye this week.
- TWF – Information and advice on raising children bilingually (specifically Welsh and English). I hope to make good use of this site one day.
- Thinking of working from home? Think it’s easy? Think again. Let’s Talk About Why You Really Want to Work at Home is a great post from Deborah that will debunk some of those myths.
- For as long as I can remember I have loved books. There’s something about touching and smelling a book that you will never get online. You should never feel guilty about buying a book, Lifehacker’s article In Defense of Buying Books explains why.
- Finally if you are going to sit on your butt all day and do nothing but write (or anything for that matter) you need to learn the Art of One Butt Cheek Blogging!
Looking back on my first week on the road to being a freelance writer I can see things look more positive than I thought. I have more enthusiasm than I imagined I would have as well as more posts! Here’s to those two traits continuing well into the future!
My biggest stumbling block was choosing a name, I just didn’t know whether to write under a moniker like Writer Dad or Copyblogger or go with my real name such as what Chirs Garrett and David Risley have done. As you can see, that issue has now been resolved thankfully. The next major step (read: very important thing to do) is to make this site more presentable. This includes writing background pages as well as coming up with a design.
Hopefully it will be done by the time of the next Friday Roundup.
